European Super League: Manchester United fans protest against ownership, demanding ’50+1′ model

Videos
Hundreds of Manchester United fans gathered outside Old Trafford to protest against the Glazer family’s ownership, calling for Germany’s ’50+1′ ownership model to be adopted in the UK.

Under rules that apply to the German Football League, 50% of a football club’s shares, plus one share, must belong to the club’s members – in other words, the fans of the team.

The ownership model is being considered by the UK government as a way of preventing proposals like the European Super League.
