Jersey Dispute: Royal Navy ships arrive to counter French fishing blockade

France has threatened to cut off Jersey’s electricity, as it says fishing licences are being granted with conditions not agreed.

Two Royal Navy vessels have arrived on station, as a precautionary measure to monitor the situation, the Prime Minister said.
