Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has revealed why he was taken to hospital last week.
Writing on Instagram, the 46-year-old, who is married to reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, said he had gone to hospital for an endoscopy on Monday “feeling great”.
“But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalised ever since.
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.
“This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.”
He added: “I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
Last Tuesday, Barker was seen being carried into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on a stretcher.
A black tracksuit-clad Kardashian, 43, was by his side.
On Thursday, his 16-year-old daughter Alabama Barker shared a photograph on Instagram of her hand placed next to her father’s – showing his distinctive tattoo.
The post was accompanied by the caption: “Thank you guys for all of the prayers and love, I appreciate you and love all of you.”
