Travis Barker reveals hospital stay for ‘severe life-threatening pancreatitis’

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has revealed why he was taken to hospital last week.

Writing on Instagram, the 46-year-old, who is married to reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, said he had gone to hospital for an endoscopy on Monday “feeling great”.

“But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalised ever since.

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.

“This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.”

He added: “I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”

Last Tuesday, Barker was seen being carried into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on a stretcher.
